Arrival Car Parking

Arriving at Crag House down the 100m drive, there is parking for two cars on the gravel to the left of the steps up to the entrance porch.

Seven stone steps, 1400 mm wide, lead up to the stone flagged terrace and entrance porch.

The terrace and drive are well lit a night by several floodlights on the house.

A bell at the front door will alert the owners to your arrival.

An alternative ramped access is provided to the front entrance.

Main Entrance & Sitting / Breakfast Room

Main Entrance & Sitting / Breakfast Room

900mm WIDE ENTRANCE DOOR IN Porch, leading to 900mm wide inner door leading to sitting room which is also used for breakfast and evening meals.

The porch and sitting room are level floors.

From the entrance an 800mm wide staircase leads up to the first floor bedroom, with ten risers to a half landing and a further four risers up to first floor landing with a dormer window looking south over the gardens. A single handrail is provided to the stairs.

Grey / green walls provide contrast with the white doors and frames with the fitted carpet providing further colour contrast.

Guest Room

The first floor guest bedroom is accessed from the landing via a 720mm wide doorway, which, with the stairs, makes the room unsuitable for wheelchair access.

The exposed timber structural truss in the bedroom provides much character, but guests' attention is drawn to the low tie beam at 1750mm above floor level.

Lighting is a mixture of spotlights, wall lights and table lamps.

Flooring is carpeted throughout and contrast with the cream walls and darker, exposed roof timbers.

In an Emergency, a bell links to the owners' accommodation.

Shower Room

The ensuite shower room is accessed directly from the bedroom.

Facilities comprise a 1200mm x 800mm shower with curved, sliding access doors and a power shower. The wash hand basin has a contemporary mixer tap and large illuminated mirror with adjacent shaver socket. The WC is back to wall with a concealed cistern. A conservation roof light provides light and ventilation with spectacular views over the north Tyne Valley.

Walls and Floors are fully tiled with travertine ceramic tiling with contrasting mosaic band.

Roof structural timbers are exposed and clear finished.

Doors are traditional timber, ledged and braced with black Suffolk latch ironmongery.

Lighting is by twin spotlights complimenting the contemporary mirror light, and an extract fan is activated by a time delay with the lights.

Additional Information

Several footpaths and rights of way link to the property, though some of these are steep on the undulating land.

Some mobile networks are poor and the house phone may be used in an emergency.

A recently installed hard tennis court is available for guests by prior arrangement and rackets and balls are available for hire.
