Breeding Objectives

Although we have a predominantly white herd of alpacas, we will always have a range of coloured animals and constantly strive to improve the quality of all by selective breeding.

We have always focused on good conformation, fineness and density and making ever progressive improvements in fleece cutting weight, handle and lustre. We are determined to breed top-quality alpacas.

This determination has led us to become involved in the Australian breeding programme through our association with Flowerdale Estate Alpacas, one of the leading Australian alpaca studs based near Melbourne.

Accelerated genetic improvements are being achieved in Australia by commitment to the SRS® Breeding Program, Embryo Transfer and Across Herd Genetic Evaluation. We believe that this is where the future lies for the development of the alpaca industry and therefore we are committing ourselves to these principles both here and with our alpacas at Flowerdale Estate which are part of their Embryo Transfer programme

We will continue to import alpacas with superior genetics which will be an asset to any British herd.
